About The Area

The Michelangelo offers easy access to a wide variety of facilities in the immediate vicinity as well as the wider Gauteng area.

Gauteng: Although it is the smallest of South Africa's nine provinces, Gauteng is the commercial and industrial powerhouse of the country and indeed of southern Africa. It is a cosmopolitan, multicultural mix of people from all walks of life, from all corners of the world. Gauteng's main attraction is big business, but there is so much more ... museums, galleries and historical battlefields. Gauteng is also an entertainment playground offering world-class restaurants, taverns, shopping malls and music venues. Gauteng encompasses Johannesburg, the East and West Rand.

Sandton Central is a City Improvement District that operates within the boundaries of Sandton Drive, Katherine Street into Rivonia Road and Grayston Drive. It is within this district, that you will be hosted by the "Men in Red", who ensure the streets you walk are always clean and safe, and that a helping hand is never far away.

The area boasts four world-class shopping centres, with over 450 shops, which means there is no shortage of places to indulge in hours of retail therapy. The assortment of over 90 restaurants, bars and cafés in Sandton Central means that day or night one will never be short of options to whet one's appetite.

Johannesburg is an African city of note. It is characterised by contradiction and an apparent seamless combination of irreconcilable differences. The largest city in South Africa, Johannesburg is also the wealthiest and, without doubt, the economic powerhouse of Africa.
